General Blocking Devices –Wireless Scrambler and Signal Jammer

General blocking devices are used to disable a person from using any wireless network. These blocking devices are called wireless blockers, which includes wireless scrambler and wireless signal jammer. These blockers are used to disrupt radio signals. Primary usages of a wireless jammer or scrambler are increased security, prevention of cheating and data theft and to maintain a quiet atmosphere for your patrons.

Wireless Scrambler – A Wireless Scrambler is a component in telecommunication, which is used for inverting signals or used to convert a message at the transmitter to poorly articulate the message at a receiver, which is not fitted with a de-scrambling device. Scrambling is generally referred to the procedures carried out in an analog domain compared to encryption in digital domain.

Scrambling is achieved by adding some parts to the existing signals or by altering some vital parts of the original signal to make original signal extraction difficult. For an instance, scramblers for the latter description may include changing or removing the horizontal or vertical sync pulses in television signals. This causes the disability of television to display a picture from such a signal.

Wireless scramblers have also been used in disrupting cellular communications. This prevents users from receiving and sending calls by implementing a denial of service attack that does not permit the registered users to have access to their network. Wireless scrambler does it by giving out some frequencies, which overpower other cellphones in that range.

There are varied uses of wireless scramblers, like in PSTN Modems and satellite, radio relay communications. It can also be placed before a FEC coder or after it before the line code or modulation.

Wireless Signal Jammer – Wireless signal jammers are often used to interfere with WLAN (wireless local area network), which is a kind of DoS (denial of service) attack. This signal jammer is used for temporary stopping of transmission or temporary cut off of the power during usage. These devices are used in microwaves, televisions, radios or other units that operate receiving electrical signals.

Some common types of this signal jamming are random pulse, random noise, random keyed modulated CW, warbler, stepped tones, spark, pulse, rotary, gulls, recorded sounds etc.

Wireless signal jammers have been used to enhance the security of WLAN’s by jamming the wireless signals in a restricted geographic area.

The cellphone jammers are easy to operate and will block signals from different phone systems like GSM, CDMA, SCDMA, PCS and DCS etc.

A WIFI jammer is an example of a Wireless signal jammer. This WIFI jammer is used to cutoff WLAN networks in a span of 20 to 100 meters, including the Bluetooth communication and wireless video camera signals. Thus, this unit helps to avoid information from leaking out to an unauthorized person. This is also called a portable signal blocker, which can be put into a briefcase or in a pocket in an inconspicuous way. Illegal access to your PC can be prevented using WIFI jammer. Thus, wireless signal jammer gives private life security.
